Jamat Ul-Vida is a holy festival for the Muslim population. It
is held annually before the end of the Ramzan month.
Jamat-ul-Vida is referred to
as the final or last 'Jumma' of the holy
month by the Islamic religion. This name (Jamat-ul-Vida) of the pious Eve is derived
from couples of Arabic words 'Juma' and 'Wida'. 'Juma' in Arabic means 'gathering'
and 'Wida' according to the Arabic language is 'farewell'.
The last Friday of the holy
month of Ramzan is celebrated
as Jumat ul Vida. Ramzan is also known as Ramadan, Ramazan or Ramadhan

Jamat Ul-Vida (Ramadan, Ramazan or Ramadhan) is considered as an optional holiday. Employment and holiday laws in India allow employees to choose themselves a

may choose to take the day off on this day, however, maximum offices and
businesses remain open on this day.

or during fasting. The fasting period is usually associated with modest
weight loss.
In English, ‘Jumu’atul Wida’ means the
Friday of farewell. It is observed on
the last Friday in the month of Ramadan. It is Just before of Eid-al-Fitr. It indicates good wishes of the Holy Quran too. The Muslim community is observing Jumat ul Vida today with great enthusiasm and
devotion.
On Jamat-ul-Vida (Ramadan, Ramazan or Ramadhan) people gather in their nearby mosques and offer
prayers to the almighty. This is auspicious to recite the Quran on this holy
occasion.
